Kiitellä created gold, silver and bronze medallions for the 2016 Nature Valley US Alpine Championships held at Sun Valley March 22-27. The Sun Valley event logo translates beautifully in the jet-cut metals. Custom designed and fabricated with brass, stainless steel and a bronze patina, the medals are then hand-polished and waxed. Aluminum-printed Sun Valley and Nature Valley logos are featured in the center, attached with solid brass and aluminum rivets. Kiitellä awards are happily designed and crafted in Ridgway, Colorado by artist Lisa Issenberg.
At the 2018 Toyota U.S. Alpine Championships, hosted by Sun Valley March 19-26, podium finishers are awarded medals custom designed and fabricated by metal artist Lisa Issenberg, of Kiitellä (Finnish v. meaning to thank, applaud or praise). These “gold, silver & bronze” medals consist of jetcut satin-polished brass, steel and bronze. Kiitellä’s process includes a mix of both handcraft and industrial techniques… no two medals are the same.
